It’s a practical course designed to familiarize drivers with the correct use of range (high and low), gears, and techniques to operate a 4WD/4x4 vehicle through and over diverse, difficult terrain.

Training includes the mechanical understanding, and also the skills to handle the capabilities and limitations of a 4x4 vehicle - without harming personnel or damaging vehicle and equipment, and with minimum environmental damage.
